Ganga Avataran

Adorned with the intricate patterns of ' GOND' tribal art form, this painting depicts the mythological story of descending of heavenly river Ganga to the earth. When after years of penance ' Bhageeratha' was successful in securing the descending of river Ganga to the earth, in order to save the earth from the force of river Ganga, Lord Shiva binds river Ganga in his hairs. In this painting, river Ganga is represented by fish.
